auto trasmission

I have a question about Tys transmission..

for example, when you have it in 3. gear and you leave gas,
does it put in neutral or engine starts to brake like at manual transmission?

If your auto trans is in 3, it will just drive off. If it went in to neutral you have serious issues. Unless I am not understanding the question.

i think she means......if your in 3rd gear, and let go of the gas pedal, does it stay in gear or does it go into neutral.

am i corrrect with your question APBT?

if i am, the answer is it will stay in third. if you slow down more it will downshift to 2nd then 1st gear.

it hink she means if it will engine brake, it does engine brake in 1,2,3,D but in OD it will not, it will feel like it goes in neutral but it's not neutral, (overrun clutches)

On a 700r4 there is a clutch called the overun clutch. that clutch is applied to the sprag and is what cuases engine braking but I would have ot look but I think that is only in OverDrive 3rd gear should have engine braking all the time if it goes into nuetral there is a porblem maybe valve body problem
