This the only place I'm aware of:
http://www.sytyperformance.com/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&page=shop.browse&category_id=172&Itemid=69

other than that you would have to buy an engine from someone on here

Warmpancakes has some lower mileage engines just listed today; look here:

Re: crate engine

My jasper had 100K miles on it when it popped the head gasket. The last 5K miles were modded (te44, code 59). I liked my jasper. The head gasket was my fault.

Re: crate engine

awesome ,i think i will order it,$1,700 it is a direct replacement forged pistons and all.what in these engines other than the heads and forged pistons is different than a stock 4.3.its not worth the time and agrivation rebuilding my current motor for $1,700.will have it next week, they asked if it had press in or screw in studs.i will have to get the valve covers off, anyone have any input on this.

Re: crate engine

LB4 stock SyTy heads are press in.

You will want to swap to an L35 head with screw in studs it given the opportunity.

Re: crate engine

should i just tell them they are screw in and get the better heads.is anything else different that would cause me trouble.

Re: crate engine

the more i research this i dont think a crate motor is the way to go.my block is cracked and i need to find a block.does anyone know where a bowtie block can be found?i plan on keeping this truck so forged pisons and rods with a steel crank is my current plan.i really do apreciate the advice, this is my first typhoon.

Re: crate engine

Figure bowtie block of $1500 or more, a "steel" crank $3g. How far do you plan to go. We went from a cheap Jasper motor to full out. Not sure either extreme is what you need/want.

Re: crate engine

the crank i looked at from scat is not a billet steel crank but much harder than stock $350.any sugestions on pistons, rods.what is the difference beetween a stock 4.3 and a typhoon engine.i assumed they had forged pistons from the factory.thats why i was unsure if my current engine was correct.

forged from factory = nope

get SRPs or TRW or some nice JE pistons

may as well throw in some eagle rods and get 4 bolt mains with the hardened crank then you don't need to upgrade the lower end if you want to run it harder.
