Fuel Pump Install

Got a walbro pump for christmas and am fixing to install it. Body shop where my friend works has a ceiling mounted winch so I am not too worried about bed removal. Any tips or tricks any one can offer would be appreciated. Nick, you wanna help on this one? TIA....

If you have a Sy, this is the easy way to do it. And you don't need a helper.

Just remember to loosen the pass side bed bolts, DON'T remove them just loosen them about 1/2". If you remove them the bed will slide of the frame

I replaced my fuel pump in less then 30min doing it this way, all by my self.

I dont have off until until New Years day. When are you going to install the pump. Just let me know when and I will help out. Did you ever get the IC pump working if not we can fix that too.

Make sure you have new locking rings and rubber gasket before you do the job. After all this time they're worn out and need to be replaced.

Got a new o-ring with the pump (ron's kit). Where can I get a lock ring? Got a part #? TIA

Even easier way - cut a hole in the bed to access the line connections. Got a bed mat in mine, nothing shows. Former owner must have hauled cinderblocks in there.

That aux relay is basically the same thing as the Racetronix harness, FYI, only not as professional. I'd recommend the Racetronix kit just to take the extra load off the stock wiring.

I mounted the Racetronix relay with the ground screw right behind that bed mount thingy, right on the top of the frame. You can see a wire running to it near the crossmember...

The locking ring part number is on www.sytyauthority.net, and it's posted in about every other fuel pump thread.

The pix i have of the relay is during installation, at this moment my set up is as proffesional as Racetronix harness. I too used stock connectors and it's a plug-and-play set up.
