Good head gasket for boost junkie

I was curious which headgaskets are better than OEM
my first engine build i use the GM Felpro units but had a
short succes with hi boost and a nitrous shot then i switch
to Cometic MLS is was stronger but had some coolant leaking
issues so i installed a Mr Gasket Solicor unit so far no coolant
leaks but i will update after my engine break in and turn up the
boost and nitrous shots !! :tup:

Pretty much everyone with an upgraded headgasket is using cometic but we're not all trying to run 30psi and spray nitrous at the same time and expecting our headgaskets not to fail :lol:

Your problem is not the headgasket

Ya know i have no idea how you push 30psi on a 900-?? Or whatever hp engine an dont already know these answers? On top of that spraying NOS??? Do you have arp head studs yet?? Have you lowered your compression ratio to counter act the ridiculous ammount of boost an NOS?? Seems to me someone needs to do some home work, alot of reading, also listining, an finnaly go back to the drawing board!! You need to take little steps at a time!! To build a motor is an art form, trust me i watch it get done every day! You just dont slap a bigger head gasket on an exspect the engine to hold together. When you build an engine an take your time, do your studying on the engine your building. Trust me when i say this, you can cut you boost in half an run no NOS an be faster than your set up right now

So how exactly do you know if your making "much more power" if you dont have access to a dyno ? 900 hp is alot . Much more is just that , an even larger number . :lol: Claiming all this on a stock 2 bolt block , coupled with only just a month ago you didnt know the difference in between a 2 bar and 3 bar map leads me to believe , well you know ....

I would suggest a copper head gasket with o-ring and receiver groove. Done correctly, it will not leak and hold well. At these power levels, the HG failing is your 'fuse' instead of melting things down.

This is how my engine is set up. I run SCE copper head gaskets and o-ringed heads. SO far so good. But then I haven't run 30psi. Yet.

If you had no head gasket failure with the Cometics, but had a coolant leak. The problem is the surfaces on the block or cyl head or both is too rough. I forgot what the term was called a RA smoothness of???

Well first off it is nitrous oxide not NOS. NOS is a brand, not what you are spraying in your engine. Stop talking like d- bags from the Slow and Delirious movies. Just like nitrous is not going to blow the welds on your intake or make your floor panel unbolt and fall off. :rotf:

I also have vortec heads setup for the cooper head gaskets and o-rings.

Nos – Nitro same shit.

I am not a mechanic , bought a DVD from Ebay for $4.99 on how to rebuild you chevy 4.3/350 and build my second engine.
Lasted for 7 years with many many mid 11s pass.
I am kind of dumb, so you don’t have to be a rocket scientist to build an engine.

Feel free to flame me.

Just an update it is a Syclone and the only one here since 1993 i
sold my Typhoon after so the new owner shipped it to the Netherlands
the other Typhoon here is from a friend he did a V-8 conversion !!

If he wants to call it NOS, let him. It's worse that you came up with a "cute" name for a old old movie. Good one.

Copper and oring is what I have always heard to be the best, otherwise cometic, but I think you are beyond that.

Cometic recomends a 50RA which is a near mirror like finish done at your machine shop on your block and heads to make a good seal.

GM & ACDelco also sell sealing tablets that may help your coolant leaks. You crush them up and put them in the coolant to help seal leaks. GM #12378254.

Thanks for the feedback my Vortec heads were done by Jerry MC COY so i did
no resurfacing after i was reading an build up from Nelson performance engines
and he puts a lot of gasket maker to the MLS Cometic and his engine is dynoed
at 2000 HP with turbo and nitrous i think this may be the answer to my leaking
issue because i installed them dry !!!
