All i can say is expensive, expensive, and expensive.
For that much money that thing better be running tens all day.
And if its that expensive because of the system and dvd ive seen better ones in person.
Does anybody know the story behind ths ty ?

if somebody is quick to buy it, then maybe the value of sy-ty's on a serious up-swing..... that's not a factory color, right? < (haven't seen it) :n00b:

for 25 grand that ty better have a set of lips that come out from under the dash. do all typhoons say syclone on the plenium. i never noticed thar before. to me it looks like the bottom of the hood is blacks . and the rad support is gray along with the fan shroud. all the fan shrouds and rad supports that i see are black. i think that truck was hit in the front and he had to change the rad support and decided to paint to match while it was out.

Looks like a pewter color to me, very classy and tasteful IMO. Definitely not gonna win any "outrageous California surfer dude magazine contests" where they look for bright orange and ghetto-fabulous 22 inch poseur rims, not that someone with this owner's taste would enter such a contest to begin with..

I like the color, kinda looks like steel city grey. The mat under my hood is black maybe thats what you see. And yes all TY's have syclone plenums.

i wish everyone else selling one of these would wise up and raise their prices. Then the percieved value would change to a number that it should be at. I think we are our own worst enemy when it comes to valuing these trucks. Just look at all the negative comments thrown at the value of this truck. Going on appearances alone this truck looks great.

ed - the price of the trucks is reasonable at the moment, a truck that has been used and abuse will need TONS of money dumped into it to get it back to good shape.. I think the reason these trucks arent in the high 20s is because repair is outrageously expensive...

How about 94,000 miles, Non OEM paint, Non OEM Exhaust and Non OEM IC.

IMO, Way to much cash.

Looks like a Spearco Ic to me.

The little air filter on the BOV keeps dirty unfiltered air out of the intake in case the BOV cracks open at idle or cruise.

Looks to me like the firewall is the same color as the rest of the truck.

perhaps someone has a old typhoon brocure that elaborate on oem colors that were available.

My truck has 100k on it. I paid 26,500 in jan 91. Looks as good now as the day i bought it.

I defiy anyone to find a tape line on it from when i redid the body.

Only thing original is motor (being done over this winter). dif's, acunit, blower motor, rear springs. Everything else has been replaced or redone.
Oh yeah i forgot 6 things, the instrument cluster, wiper stalk, wiper motor, hvac controls, and light switch are original.

So how much is it worth. As much as you can get. What do we all wish they were worth?

Perhaps at the next naste meet we can line them all up
and assign a resale dollar value to em all.

My only point here is i would think everyone would want to see the value go up.

I wonder what the value of other very limited fast production vehicles has done over the last few years?

As far as value: The ultimate story there has to be the Shelby Cobra's, right?
10 years after they were built (say, 1973-6) you could buy one at about half life (say 50k miles), in need of a lot of refreshing, for about half the original sales price.

10 years later, the same car (if restored or at least with maintenence enough to offset any miles beyond that first 50k) was worth over 100k.

10 years later (if restored or in good original condition)... over $500k! (a few sold at over a million bucks, but those were near-zero mile examples)

10 year later, price is back down to a quarter-mil.

So, if we use the Cobra model of value, a half-used up Ty (at 100k miles) 10 year old is now at near the bottom of the value curve, at around half original sticker. Obviously, a well-modded or extremely low mile unit will be worth more.

So, be patient, grasshopper. Watch the miles. Keep up with the maintenence. Try to care for it beyond the miles you are putting on, so it moves slowly back towards original condition. Don't let the the wife or SO talk you into selling it. Wait 10 or 20 years, like the smart Cobra owners did. Don't be like the fool who sold his 10 year old Cobra in 1973 for $4000.
