It's bugging the hell out of me, and search is turning up nothing (for me anyway).

I know we talked about this truck recently (as in the last 3 months or so). It's #0434 and was at a dealer in Elburn IL

I looked at this one on eBay a couple of months ago. It was pretty easy to tell that it had been painted from looking at the firewall. Doesn't necessarily mean anything bad as long as it was done well, it just makes you suspicious. For the price, it's probably a good deal in any case.

Well shit! Not gonna happen I'm afraid. Spoke with the dealer and his listing doesnt match the reality of he truck. Truck was hit in '95' paint work on the front and driver's side, some peeling in door jamb. He then proceeds to tell me the engine makes a rattling sound under WOT when at 50 mph or higher....oh good! Was all excited to get a Ty but I'm opting to run for zee hills. Damn!

That had to be somewhat of a relief to hear that!! It makes all that guessing of whether or not you made a good buy a reality! Glad to hear you didn't fork over any cash for it yet!! Good luck in your search!

I do dig that Teal, and mine is back on EBAY and is NO RESERVE and will sell with the next bid over 8k!
Who knows maybe they just did not want to sell it for your bid and made up a bunch of stuff to scare you off it so they would not have to sell it.
