Now, I'm curious. I've read where people using the MSD 6A ignitions and MSD coils are having burn through problems on the cap and rotor. But has anyone had this problem when using the MSD distributors? I love the MSD 6A boxes, I've put them in every car i had that would except them and I noticed a big difference, so i plan to install one in the Ty as well. I want to have the full benefit of using the box and coil combo, but don't want to go threw stock cap & rotors every month. From what I've read though, this only happens with the MSD coils, has anyone tried using other coils, like ACCEL? Accel are rated at 45,000v unlike the MSD's 48,000v. That 3,000v difference might be all that is needed to prevent melting the stock replacement cap & rotor. Just some thoughts i had... Its probably a subject better suited for the "engine tech" area, but i figured since we're on the subject.
Yep, changed the filter the same time i did the pump. Going to do a tune up this weekend and check/swap the vacuum lines, probably change the O2 sensor, do an oil/filter change.SonomaGTlover said:I agree that you should check the vacuum lines for the rough idle...
Did you replace the fuel filter as well when you did the pump?
I had issues with my SoGT when I replaced the pump, turns out the filter was clogged.
