I have figured it out!

It might have been discussed before, but I couldn't find it with a search..

I pulled the dash to put in Indiglo's today and while I was fighting with the wiring harnesses:rant:, I looked at the side of my cluster and saw "MADE IN ENGLAND"

Did GM not realize that English automotive electronics are the WORST in the world? I guess it explains why we have so many electrical gremlins in our trucks!

To quote a Jag mechanic buddy of mine, "You know, it's amazing to me that in a country where it rains 90% of the time, they can't create one electronic devise that works on a car in the rain."

Just kidding..

My Dad had a Land Rover and that was reknowned for having electrical problems!

Now if only you guys could sort out steering and design cars that could go round corners :D

Have you ever worked on some german stuff? i have there cars and jukeboxes all have shitty wiring thats entirely too small for the circiut.





i dunno about the newer stuff but the late 70's thur late 90's suck.

Agreed, but they have improved greatly IMO. At least the MB and BMWs i worked on.
