Progress yesterday. The cladding has had 2K primer sprayed, and is ready to block. I think I will just go ahead and paint the truck since the cladding is off.

Wow, progress is looking great! That 2k is very gratifying to spray on. It hides all kinds of defects.

I did a little work on the door panels today. They were faded and both sides had a crack in them. I epoxied the cracks up (it does not look like new), and then sprayed interior dye on the faded pieces. I also removed the interior window sweep felts and will probably not replace them.

I've had great luck with SEM interior dyes. What do you use?

Rattle can Dupli-Color vinyl and fabric paint, color is charcoal gray. Same thing I used on my two gauge pod on my sy. The stuff works pretty good.

Progress yesterday. I just blocked the clear on the truck with 180 and fixed the small dents in the body. I may try to prime the truck with 2K in the next day or so. There have been lots of discussion at the body shop about what color to paint the truck, and I am leaning toward a bright silver now.

No, I am a self employed civil engineer with lots of free time. It is really nice having a first class drinking buddy/body man with a fully equipped body shop at his house about a mile down the road. He will be spraying the color, but I will do all the body and prep work.

I am open to suggestions on the paint color. I want to paint the entire truck one color, but I am not sure which way to go. Throw in the fact that I am color blind and have not taste, I am in a tough spot.

You can't go wrong with that silver. It's a beautiful and forgiving color and it hides imperfections well. I wouldn't paint it black.
