yes GM does sell a replacement for the sun shell that is better than the torque master thingy.
and no they don't sell a input drum BUT as I stated you don't need it and the fact that they use alum pistons is one huge reason not to buy it. this is THE biggest failure rate of any part I've seen in a perf tranny. if you change the pistons you'll throw off the balance that they claim is so important. but WHO here spins their motor to 9500rpm's? NOBODY!!
so gm sells the sun shell? how much? $50? $60? $80?
the thrust bearing. $5?
the modified low reverse race. $15?
so(referring to the gp) from $220 that leaves maybe $120-$150 for the input drum? right?
that dont seem to bad for a hardened input drum with reinforced shaft that adds some insurance.
then you refer to the aluminum pistons breaking. you can still use the bonded 3-4 clutch piston and the bonded forward clutch piston. if i'm not mistaken, the forward clutch piston is the one prone to cracking. so you only have to use an aluminum over-run clutch piston.
sorry for pushing this subject further. i just want everyone to have a different view of blake's gp.
