PW Syclone.... Updated

OK, now that things are back to normal and I have recovered from the last few months of issues... i can get back to a project that was intended to be completed for this past spring.

I'm not going to let the cat out of the bag yet because I don't have pics yet but coming very soon to my garage is (as far as I know) the first and only PW Syclone. I picked up the truck last fall for a VERY reasonable price (practically free) and plan to restore it with some custom mods. It probably won't be a big deal to most of you guys but it is to me... It's a Father/Son project to break in the kid right. He will be getting his hands dirty in every aspect of the project although I will be doing most of the work since he's only two.

Any guess as what the PW Syclone is?? LOL... Stay tuned I'll have pics up in a week or so.

I wouldn't mind picking up a SY as a father/son project...............but then again he just turned 4 weeks old today :roll:

Well, it's not really a Syclone... heck, it's not even a GMC but with a little imagination and the right decals it'll be just fine for my son. It even has what looks like fender cladding so I figured what the heck... for $10 I can't go wrong and he's been sooo happy that he has his own truck now.

It was pretty rough when we got it... full of sand, dirt and leaves not to mention it was so faded that it was turning white. He's been sweeping it out and wiping it down with a rag and even hit it with a sponge sanding block. He wanted to spray some paint but we learned that on a piece of cardboard this time. We will finish painting the primer coat this week and then it'll get a real base/clear coat of shiny new black paint. This will be a learning experience for me as I have never painted with the new gravity guns before.

I was going to fabricate a new grill for it out of fiberglass so it looks more like a SY but for now I'll just make the GMC decal and stick it in there. I'm sure he'll be more than excited about how it looks. Anyway, here are the pics I have... wish I had taken more while he was sanding and cleaning.

This has been a great experience for us both so far and he just can't wait to step on the gas.

John if its gonna be done let me Know ASAP if the son will be there with it I will get a trophy made for him so he can "win" one

Totally awesome :tup:

I'll make sure it's done, just need to be sure he can ride it. He has another one but can't quite erach the pedal. He slides down and presses it then pops up to see where he is going. This is a little smaller so should be easier for him.

Well, I got the replacement battery today and it's confirmed... We HAVE Power !
It's sitting in primer right now, base/clear to go on this weekend and a week or so for him to get comfortable driving it.

Count us in for attendance with the INDY SY and the PW SY

Only 1 battery?!? I'm sure something can be done about that :lol: :tup:
