I searched the forums but couldn't find anything. Has anybody did this. It would be quite a sleeper. I'd be pretty humiliated to pull up to stop light to race only to get shat on by a van :D

I thought about trying this about 3 years ago, but due to my lack of knowledge about the Sy/Ty's at that time i bailed out.

I do know that the safari's have the correct transfer case/frnt & rear axles
I think it would be an awsome project.

what would you call it A "HURRICANE" ?

Ask Sean Morris...I think he's had extensive experience with the Astros/Safaris in modding them back when it was cool to mod them in the late 90's....I know for a fact he really seriously thought about it doing it too.

if you are worried about the weight get a cargo version of the van, there are a few running the AWD with L98 under the hood out where I used to live the will tow anything, The ATV guys built them for toywing the trailers.

ive heard of this idea before and i think the approprite title would be the "Boostin Brick", too heavy to even get descent performance out of. Go to www.rankinroad.com and there is a school bus racing a ls1 camero and it wins by like 2 bus lengths lol.
