Re: Stand Alone
Just fyi, BS3 has a plug and play harness for the SyTy. No hacking up the factory harness is needed.
I think the tuning sticky explains the Code59 well enough that any real tuner shop could understand and be able to do a tune. But most likely if they are good, not great, they are too busy and don't have the knowledge/patients to expand past the the systems they are comfortable. A great shop, we'll say actually good, would do it bc they are competent enough in their tuning skills to pick it up. Thats because I bet they would charge more for either the time and/or the added aggrivation.
If I was building super modded truck like $40-$80k in up I would gut the wiring and be running a Motec or cheaper like a BS3.
My MS2 is on a T'd LB4 S10 in my sig.... I can get crazy on that and not feel bad about chopping a SYTY.
I dont see gutting, or really hacking up, the factory wiring on a collector truck a good idea. Actually its pretty weak on my street cred meter.
If you want to have a SYTY have a good one, dont butcher it. Just get youself a regular S truck and put a V8 in it.
