Syclone #560 Blown Motor

Truck sat in storage for 10 years and the waste-gate flap rusted CLOSED!! Over boosting for a few days caused fatal damage. A rod went through the oil pan punching a hole it the front rear...Any advise on the quickest way to back up and running would be appreciated. I looked at a few machine shops stating they do these motors all the time and the quote comes back (Cyclone Motor Rebuild) I think the spelling should be correct if you do these motors all the time...I will be updating on the progress and will post picks of the blown engine.

That's a shame.... my Sy had gone through a frame off resto 500 miles before I bought it in 2007.. frame-off was completed in 1997. My wastegate was frozen shut too, but I was lucky enough to catch it during my inspection.... sorry you had to have this happen.

you shoul cut you loses and just sell me the truck blown engine and all. I have a nice 10 sec motor for that.

Hey Tony...i wasnt aware you needed a motor built too...if thats the case, I have a nice L35 core that we can build for ya if youre interested....let me know. If the rod went that bad, then the block usually isnt worth salvaging...

dude, i've worked on this truck a few times. had a bunch of vacuum problems the owner wouldn't let me fix so he dumped it to a local high end used dealer. was for sale at a place called cosmo motors here in town. send me a pm if you're close to hickory and i'll take a look at it if you want.

The graveyard is an album that Jimmy keeps of dead trucks I think.

Makes for sad reading.

Dead as in accident not dead as blown motor though. The graveyard would over fill a server if included non moving SyTy's :D

Yes its unfortunate. Thanks, I can not free this wastegate up no matter what I do... I may have to take heat to it. How did you handle your wastegate problem?
