Different people at some of them. Diff. locations. Not exactly sure what your looking for here. They all have they pros and cons. You sould def. go to homecoming this year if you never have been. It is one of my favorites.

NASTE is a "club" meet where its just an afternoon gathering involving lunch and some sort of a show-n-shine, and a raffle. Sometimes people bring parts to sells. Used to be run by Morgan, but now has in recent years been spearheaded by Baythan, and his slowly growing committee or sorts. Attendance has seen anywhere from 15-30 trucks.
NE Extravaganza has been a weekend long Pittsburgh meet that Benedict and I would coordinate involving racing, show and shine, cruise, and meal/cookout/some sort of food indulgence, and awards. We've talked about throwing another one somewhere (maybe not pittsburgh this time, who knows), but haven't done any actual planning for it as of yet. Attendance has seen 15-25 trucks
SyTy Shindig is a Florida/Georgia version of the extravaganza basically. They also are gaining big momentum in the AutoX scene and doing great things with getting more syty's into not just going straight. They also enjoy racing pocketbike motorcycles in parking lots. Truck attendance was in the 20s i believe.
Homecoming is a gathering where the trucks were born with some racing sometimes if weather permits, cookout and show n shine, raffle and awards. Truck attendance has been 20-50 trucks.
They are all basically a local level syty meet with some flavor of NATS finished with local twists/preferences. Many people going to one, go to multiple. So you see familiar faces at them. I have personally been to them all except for Shindig, but i'm sure that'll change at some point for me.

The intent of the Shindig is to be a large regional meet that is open to all SyTy enthusiasts around the country (and globe). We have adopted a format that is member-centric in that we aim to have activities for the people to have fun and shine, not just the trucks. This is what led us to focus more on autocrossing (that and I've been racing for a decade now), as it involves the driver more and allows for (IMO) more fun to be had and a greater room for driver improvement (at least for us) over drag racing.
The original Shindig (2008) was spawned out of numerous FL/GA meets that just kept growing and gaining popularity. Adam, Ian, Pope, and Myself decided in 2007 to formally create a regional event to occur on even numbered years so as not to conflict with Nats. 2008 (in Dyatona) gave us 16 or so trucks and we only drag raced but had some great after hours fun. 2010 was moved to Savannah and was more accessible to the rest of the Southeast. As a result, we had nearly double the trucks and were able to focus much more on autocrossing and a more structured event (raffle, donations, etc..).
This upcoming Shindig is being held again in Savannah and promises to be better than ever. Early indications are that we're gonna have a bigger than ever turnout, twice as many raffle/donation items, rewards (beyond a trophy) for performance in racing, more fun events, and a more diverse schedule.
But the main difference in the Shindig is that we have better accents, better food, better fun, and it's just plain better. :tup::rotf:

Cool info... I'm left wondering though.... Why can't the PacNW get it together to do something. I've only met one guy locally to me, and that was by way of Steve coming down from Seattle.
I'd love to do more with my local SyTy'ers, but I don't even see more than one or two that are local.

Back in the days late 90s, SoCal SyTy was a big deal. Once Andrew Schwartz and Sean Morris, the 2 that lead the force, started to fade out (although Sean still lurks), it seemed all of the pacific regions slowly died off. Im sure the OG'ers remember the HAN meets where 20-40 trucks would show.
Mile High SyTy (Colorado) has a bunch of owners....always wondered why there isnt more activity from them. I know WA state has quite a few owners too. Cali still has a bunch of owners spread out all over the state.
Then start something. Get the enthusiasm up and motivate people and you can coordinate a successful event that would be central for people to attend. Heads up though..its going to take time and dedication to do it. Put the time in, and it'll pay off.

It's tough, 4-5 years ago Dustin, Steve, and I tried to organize meets in the pacific northwest, but there just wasn't anyone interested.
It would end up being the three of us there, well four, Steve's wife was always a trooper. :tup:
I'm sure if you try again you'll at least get those two out of hiding :lol:

Roy, who are these people you're referring to? I'm always down to meet locals. Like Paul said, it would be nice to have a higher turnout when we do get together.

I didn't realise 2008 was the first time you did Shindig!
I was in FL an purely by coincidence came on the site to see if anyone was around. I missed most of the fun but Adam called me up and invited me down. I ditched the tourist trap in Church St station and spent the night meeting everyone and even getting a ride with Harmon. I had a great time and it inspired me to fly over for Nationals in KY in 2009. Both events demonstrated the outstanding characters of the owners and forum members alike
I meant to go to both HC and Shindig '10 whilst I was in the states but with a poorly running truck I was nervous of the distance, I was apprehensive. I truly regret not going.
If it weren't for college and lack of funds, I'd go this year. There may still be a way but if I were in the US full time, I'd love to go to these meets more regularly.
