Ty vs GTI VR6

I dont even know why Im posting this. It was embarassing. I lost to this kid who claims 13.6 on his n/a golf gti. Anyways we lined up and I had my friend in the truck who is about 200lbs and we take off. I had a shitty launch and only pulled 1/2 car length on him!??! Anyways it stretched out to about 2-3 car lengths and he pulled on me on the big end. I think we ran a lil more then 1/4 though. Ill measure it out next money when Im out there. Im not gonna be doing any 1/3 mile runs or anything cause Ill lose to half these ricers every time. My ty is gonna get a tune up this weekend. Id assume with out the tune up and with my friend in the car we were running 14.5's or so. I WILL be out there next monday with a tuned truck and cash in hand to rerace if he wants to do it for money. Maybe Ill leave the spare tire at home too. As my friend says, parapalygics crawling on their chins don't lose to VW's. I sure as hell don't know why I did. It will be fixed next monday night granted the paranoid kid there doesnt yell cops.

that is pathetic...i banish you out to your garage to tune your truck!! run some xylene and 20 psi(ultimate chip?) and go finish this

Hey, don't feel bad, at least your man enough to be honest about it. Prior to joining this forum, I raced a GTI VR6 a few months ago, from a rolling start(10-15mph). He was surprised how quickly and easily he was overtaken. I had my brother with me, he ways about 275, I myself way closer to the 3's. It amazes me how many people really underestimate our trucks. I stayed well in front of him till about 120mph. By then, as far as I was concerned, I had won. We were starting to catch up to heavier traffic anyhow, It could have been dangerous for us to continue like that. My 93' Ty is nearly stock, except for stg 10-1 chip, I was only running 17psi. He'll think twice about running a syty next time, and I only had a lightly modded truck! Though I may have lost on the absolute top end, I had him beat good w/ about 600lbs of passenger wt. to boot. By the time that kid caught up with you, the race had already been won, by you!!!!

I still have to see a fast VR6. They came in to versions, either with 174HP and front wheel drive or 190HP and AWD. I don't know how they sell it it the US, thought. Either way it should be no problem to beat him in a tuned, stock Ty, even from a roll... Anyway don't feel bad, but tune that truck up...

they are pretty quick. I could be wrong, but im pretty sure they arent awd. The passat is, but not jetta

There are other places besides the US. They have these things called Atlases and Globes. Try using one one time.

Trisha has a VR6, it is not bad but the Ty punishes it.

Before you do ANY more racing Abe, please let's tune your truck...

Seriously.

You most likely need at the very least a spring cleaning including the following:

Plug Wires
Plugs
Cap
Rotor
Fuel Filter
Fuel Pump
IC Pump
IC Soft Lines
AFPR
Tuning
Tuning
Tuning

There is NO WAY A VR6 WILL TOUCH A STOCK TUNED TY, PERIOD.
I raced a VR6 with a supercharger in my Sy, tuned POORLY and still passed him.
Your truck needs some work, for sure.

Do the above, and let's put it on a scantool.
