What do I search for?

I notice that a lot of people that have rear disc set ups say they got the backing plates on ebay. Well, I am curious, what are you guys searching for because when I search for backing plates U get friggin dust shields. Whats the secret here?:lol:

Are you looking for what year and vehicles that came with rear discs and are compatible to swap onto our trucks? ...or am i way off point on this?? :)

I know the years, I am really looking for the parking brake assy's or the backing plate as they call it. The piece that will bolt to the axle tube.

"Ls1 rear disc brakes" was how I bought mine years ago off eBay . If i had to do it again today I'd just call yards local and go pick off whats needed in person .

When I was looking, there weren't many on Ebay. There were usually only about 2 sets on average, and a lot of them were pretty crusty looking. It took me several weeks to find a set that looked good.

Unfortunately around here cars like this are golden.They go to auction and who knows what happens to them after that. In short, those cars do not make it to our bone yards here.

also v6 or v8 the rear brakes are the same you could buy a complete diff assy from a local yard for 225-300

Can LT1 fbody rear discs brakes be used? I have a set of them that I might put on one of the SY's if they will.

i remember when me and christian did the brakes on my truck (before it was mine) he just went and got the entire axle out of an ss camaro and started robbing parts.
