What do you guys think about my intercooler?

I spray painted a coat of red engine paint on and then. I taped off the GMC logo I wanted and then painted it balck. What do you guys think? Does it look stupid and be better if it was all balck? The paint is sitll a little wet in this picture.

Would look much better all black.

Yeah thats a good I ideal. I just wanted too see if I could get it to turn out doing the cheap way. Cheap way is usually not better

I personally would have left it alone. Or if you wanted to do something with it get it powder coated. Nothing against you, but that is just my .02

Being that these trucks are already 17 years old, people are moving toward getting them looking as stock as possible. Any cosmetic mods that are made should only be to compliment the stock look. I know that I am much more impressed by the work it takes to restore and preserve the stock look than to buy some spray paint and get creative. Thats sort of more up a Honda civics alley than our trucks. You obviously are willing to spend some time on making your truck look nice which is a very good start.

If the intercooler was in original coditon I would not have painted it. The old stem for the cap was leaking and I had to get a new radiator neck and cap welded on. Then I had to drill into it for my alcohol injection. The intercooler is not stock anymore. I am going to pick an original one up just in case I want the stock look. I thought it looked nice. Im disapointed in what you guys think about it. I did ask for your opinions though

Another potential trick...

Print off a GMC motorsports logo on a laser printer.
Cut the letters out with an exacto to make a stencil.

Lay that over the top of your black, and paint a cast aluminum color.

Cheap, and if done right, looks good too.
