I think the weekend before we are going to load up everything and go wieght it just in case. Our local landfill has a scale!...lol
That trailer is 2,500 more than I guessed it was. You guys are going to be really close, or over. I used 3,600 as an average weight for the SyTys. 5K, now 7.4 for the trailer, and 7,500 for the truck, people, and gear. That's 25,700. And if the Typhoon weighs 4,100, like I think they do, your at 26,200. You're really being brave, if you don't cross a scale with it before departure.
Get a CB. Listen to the chatter on ch 19. If there's a check, or issues with a scale being unreasonable, it will be on the chatter. Pull over, unload the most road-worth SyTy (it should be on the rear), and have King drive it past the scale in question. On the other side, load it back up., and continue.
DOT dudes are pricks. They are not going to fall for "dumb blond" with that rig. People that run those kinds of rigs are not ignorant, and they [DOT] know it. You happen to get a DOT guy on you who's on his period, he'll ruin your trip. Weigh it, girl.

well i have been doing the same to my trailer. When i brought the sy home the 06 silverado managed to get 13 mpg
NC class c license will allow you to drive a straight truck up to 26k but you can only tow a trailer up to 10k
Also be sure to have the correct weight ratings on the tags on the truck and trailer.
Nice....
I'm going to spend all night taping off the front bumper, mirrors, and whatnot so I can not deal with bugs washing/detailing the truck before hand.
if not then we will take it down to a sy and a ty.
im getting the boot , what a crapper .
WTF? Seriously?

30 hour drive from Canada. I am not sure where/why he picked up so many bugs. Many of us from the Northeast had 20 hour drive and had no where near that amount.
