Re: What did you do to your SY/TY today? fixed the driver side power window, it sheared off the aluminum rivets. Put in bolts for now but stainless will go back in. That was easier than last weeks turbo and air intake replacement.

My turbo is blowing oil and is missing some chunks on the inlet side. It is also making some "sirenlike" noise and has a little play both ways. When I first heard it I thought I was getting pulled over. but there was no cop. It was fine until I replaced intake manifold gaskets. Leaking...

Re: What is the correct way to smooth these? Just weld them, and smooth of course. It is a seam not a flex point. If done right there will be no problems. Be very careful or the heat will shrink the metal and cause big problems. I would hit a couple of spots and go to the other side...
