Re: What weight fluid in differentials?! --- I've been using Amsoil 75W90 synthetic in them for about 10 years. Amsoil is a little harder to find, but I think it is the best. Just my opinion, take it or leave it.

Re: Trans rebuild and front end rebuild Some guys are running too many RPMs in the 1/4 mile with the 3.42 and they are going to the 3.08s to get the RPMs down. These guys are not running over drive transmissions. You do have to change both front and rear at the same time.

Re: Trans rebuild and front end rebuild The 4X4 front diff is a direct swap, but the right axle and tube, and companion flange must be swapped from the SyTy front diff. Be sure that it has a 3.42 gear in it.

Re: Front Posi? I think Power Trax has discontinued the Lock Right for the 7.2 IFS. There are probably still some out there. That was the only thing available for this differential.

Re: Front Diff Rebuild. I have built several of these differentials. You need a finger type dial indicator that will fit through the hole in the side of the case. This is one of the most difficult differentials to assemble.
