Its a love hate relationship
You either deal with or sell your truck to someone who can handle it.

What exactly were you doing to your truck that has you so frustrated you feel the need to post this?

I've thrown tools, cussed it out, punched the wall, kicked and thrown lots of things, but never said I hated it...
If it was your wife it would divorce you and send you packing with nothing but the clothes you are wearing.

IMO, They aren't that bad, some disassembly is required. I hate taking apart my Corvette's Dash and my Corvette suspension eats tools & bolts.

SyTy are not that bad compared to some of the newer stuff and nice to work on compared some of the euro-trash we worked on lately. So dont feel bad,it could be worse... :)

I always hate when theres something I gotta work on... but when theres nothing to be done with the truck, I feel like I should be wrenching.

So yea, I like wrenching, but I hate having to do it.

Compared to my fullsize which you could camp under standing up, the sy sucks monkey ba()s. This is the worst vehicle i've worked on, and this is my 3rd tranny job, this one is just the most difficult for some reason.

First time I ever tried to pull the tranny (some 6-7 yrs ago).....I got so pissed at one point that I nutted up, grabbed the trash can (the big green city sanitation ones), and beat the hell out of it in Waller's yard. I was right on Fair Rd. in Statesboro and about 100 people drove by and saw me stradling this trash can, punching furiously. After that, I was known (by some) as "the crazy guy that beats up trash cans."

Other than that, I've went crazy lots of ways. Even threw a wrench through a toolbox drawer once (although I used to have a 90 mph fastball in HS). Still though.....I too have never said I hated it (and meant it).

After my second pull, things got LOTS easier to do. Likewise, I've done mine three times and helped on three other pulls (drove almost three hours one way to do a pull once). Don't bother me too much these days...

Do you have all the tools needed to make the R&R go as smoothly as possible? Having the "right" tools makes all the difference in the world. Personally, I wouldn't even attempt a pull without them. A tranny jack, several extensions and a swivel socket are worth their weight in gold IMO.

I have never been so frustrated with my truck that I hated it. I choose the truck, not the other way around. I just figure any set backs are part of owning such a unique piece of automotive engineering 8) .

Well, the tranny is in now, just have the t-case and p-shaft left. Damn though, for some reason, it really gave me a run for my money this time. It's never been that hard at all the first 2 times, but like i said, i guess the 3rd time is the charm. Hood, I can just see you beating that garbage can with fury and I can't stop laughing. I know just how you felt!!!!
