Its not a stock 700R4... Its a 700R4 CASE with BUILT 4L60E Internals... The article mentions this briefly. Going to spray it this coming Sunday with a 100 shot so we will put it to the test :)

Ron. I just want you to know that I wasnt knocking your truck at all. I love it! I just know that everybody here has had problems breaking 700r's built or not. They dont seem to hold up well to alot of torque. Im on my 3rd one and my Sy has never run in the 11s and only has 50k miles on it. I hope it holds up. It would make a LS swap cheaper if you didnt have to go 4L80.

Let us know what it runs on spray. Good luck!

FWIW we use RPM Transmissions in Daleville Indiana and their 4L60E/700 has been doing quite well in everything we put them in. We have a 3800lb GTO running 9.60s with their 4L60E for over a year and a half now with ZERO issues. I also run one in my TBSS (4L65E) @ 5100lbs making 400 at the wheels and spraying a 150 shot on it with NO issues :)

RPM has their stuff together guys :)

Thanx for all of the compliments. Ill update you all with some spray #s shortly.

Rodney knows his stuff 4 sure. He is likely to be the best for either auto or manual trans.

This is the community that was pushing the 700r4's ten to 12 years ago when they were paying 5-6k for a Hartman built 700 before the technology trickled down in the aftermarket.

Very nice conversion. Those that say it isn't a syclone because it doesn't have a turbo, big friggen deal. It has that awd, the cladding and a lot less jackstands in the garage. Two thumbs up on a nice job,.

dude that is a bad ass truck. i was personally thinking of doing the same build. i contacted vengeance about the conversion in my ty. they said at least 20 g's. which would be understandable. i maybe should have went that route. i went 4.3 turbo again and it still cost me close to 20 g's if not more ..

Hey Ron the transmission is actually a 4L60E. I used an early one piece 4x4 case so it would be a direct bolt in. I have built the baddest of all 4L60E's that is going in my personal syclone as we speak. The electronic control of the 4L60E is far superior to the 700R4 and I can use a transbrake.Congrats on the magazine article. Rodney
