Anybody with his front suspension kit, did you remove the torsion bar crossmember?, he told me it is okay to remove it , but it seems like alot of the integrity of the frame will be gone without that support, i know we have the crossmember for the tranny about 14 inches in front of that one so?? jack

I still have my stocker in there for rigidity.

Al also sells a tubular crossmember to replace the stocker with.
BG has one...

I would order one from him but i dont want to wait a year to get it, i will just make my own, because the exhaust is in the way now.

I took mine out and ran it that way for a while. I then had him make a tubular one for me.

What prompted you to go back? Gut instinct or a noticable depreciation in rigidity? btw...the days are ticking down to your famous television debut!

how much rigidity can something that is mounted on rubber really offer? it would seem that the cross member, considering it is mounted on those ever failing torsion bar mounts that we all know and love, would not offer much in the way of torsional stiffness for the frame.

just me thinking outloud

chad you are thinking of the wrong crossmember. there is another one behind the torsionbar xmember. thats the one we are removing. the one that is rivited in place......and yes ryan the day is fast approaching where I make my TV debut.....lets hope it gopes well.

and no I didnt really notice any differance when I removed and then reinstalled it....but al did tell me that it was a very nessary piece and that I best not lauch hard without it.
