Re: Cladding

Brosiff, these things are limited, but they aren't worth crap. Only those that are 10 second 1/4 mile rigs or ultra low mile heated garage queens will ever be worth anything more than the 10k mark (usually).

As for being "rare," I don't agree. I see at least one every day! :rotf: Seriously though, there is usually a good selection of these trucks for sale year round. Sometimes it gets slim, but there are always deals to be had.

This is my third Typhoon. I will do with it as I please.

These things may now be worth very little, but kit won't always be that way. Practically all mainstream collect vehicles slump 10-15 years before they reach peak price. Heck, growing up a 70's camaro was a POS, now try and find a nice one without a big old wad of cash. The 'legendary' '57 Chevy was just a sedan. So called muscle cars were languishing on dealers lots for YEARS. The prices for unique or collectable vehicles will rise as those who were young boys when they were cool reach their 50's and can finally afford to buy their 'toy'.

Is this your bush?
Re: Cladding

Whats the point of taking the cladding off for the "sleeper" look when 90% of people dont know what a typhoon is anyway. People either think its a s10 extream or a twin turbo v8 mythical truck

Ditto my friend! I get nice jimmy or blazer all the time and my reply is "Your not a car person are you"?

You must be the only person on the planet that just randomly sees at lest 1 syty a day.

I'm in the process of rebuilding a 92 Ty right now, I have all the cladding except 1 piece with all the supports there. Removing the supports this week, all the cladding is for sale and is funding the rebuild.

Boy where to begin.....I don't remember asking anyone if it was "okay" or asking for anyone's opinion if I should do it or not....Let me check, nope. ;)

But, this is the internet, so I accept those with differing opinions.

Honestly it took me a long time to decide what to do with my project Ty in the driveway. After getting it for practically free on a trade for labor. I have cleaned the junk off the truck in motivation to bring her back to stock form as I had been collecting most of the missing parts the truck didn't come with. After investigating more into the interior and minor details in the repaint done by the previous owner I've decided the truck is not worth investing 10-12k into. It's got minor rust that should have been fixed prior to paintwork. Door hinges have rust, floor boards have rust. I don't have the motivation to put 10-12k into the truck to get it to my standards like the two in the garage. Not to mention it would sit in the driveway. So with 4 trucks I've decided to make it a bad ass turbo beach cruiser. Oh and yes it will have a stock ride height of my s15 jimmy 4x4 with stock wheels on 31's.

Re: Cladding

i remember awhile back, a couple brothers had tys. one had his stole, the other took all the cladding off. the truck was in like IL or IN.

no cladding sleeper is cool, but the cladding is what makes it look so good

Adam#0213

This truck is awesome!!
Re: Cladding

Not to sure what to think I understand doing a sleeper but at the same time why don't you just sell the truck if your not that in to it right now?I think the cladding looks good! Best of luck man !give me a shout sometime.

Spare me, you are a disgrace to this site. Why the hell did you even buy a Typhoon to begin with? For the drivetrain? :rotf: Have fun with your stripped down douchemobile. You belong on s10forum with all the other hacks and their sweet minitrucks
