I wonder if the auction place messed up by posting the reserves??

Where do you see that?

It's posted in this thread.

The whole things seems to be a bit of a mess. Before we speculate to death, perhaps John will chime and let us know what happened and that status of the rare Sys. :dunno:

CANCELLATION NOTE:

This morning (Thursday) our client emailed us written notice effectively canceling the auction.

In the past few days, as it appeared the auction may be cancelled, hundreds of you either emailed or called. Many of you let us know which cars you were interested in and even what numbers you were willing to bid in case you may be able to buy the cars outright rather than through the auction. It became clear that the auction would have grossed well over $7 million. So, this is a real disappointment for us too. Just the 55 cars that we now own would have sold for more than $3 million.

We are very sorry for this, but it is something we cannot control. Please stay tuned to our website as we will have lots of collectible and rare classic cars coming up for auction in January in Phoenix.

This has got to hurt...

"Several of the most rare and collectable of the cars were signed over to us as part of our guaranteed payment when we signed the auction contract. So, we will most likely be auctioning those cars at some future date no matter what happens with this auction."

I'm glad I copied and saved all the photos of Shawn Palmer's Sy yesterday.

There's a few phx members that may be willing to go take a look at stuff if/when cars end up down here in Satan's basement....

There is so much wrong with the above it's unbelieveable!
