if i had a sy instead of a ty i would go hard.

i personally like the hard ones only cuz i had the soft one, and i hated that when it rained the water would collect on the cover and the weight of the water would stretch it out. that, and i feel a helluva lot safer leaving about 5grand in guitar equipment under a hard tonneau that locks, rather than a soft tonneau that someone can just cut, or take off. just my opinion, i could be wrong

My sy had a hard cover when I purchased it, it was crazy heavy 75-100 lbs, so it had to go, cheap! 100 lbs is a 1/10 of a second!!
if you plan on going fast as possible go with a soft cover, I bought a Black max cover by Xstang i think, it has black rails, the snaps invert for a tighter or softer fit, and the rails are around 2" wide, and it fight super tight, with no, and I mean no sag, water runs right off, I would highly recommend it.

the covers that checkmate sells are not heavy, look nice, dont necisarily require painting, and work well IMO.
I had one of those,but because theyre in three pieces they shake around alot,
which isnt good for high speed ,mine shook itself loose
and came off at about 90mph
luckily it didit hit anything but the ground,
I think there rated for 120mph, but they probaly didnt acount for 6 months of lanches,
although it works well on my other truck regular S10 (for work)
