As noted in the thread below, I recently picked up a great little Chevy S10, 1988, 2.8l V6 with 101k miles, 5 speed.

Also noted in that thread, a short time later, ANOTHER truck came to my attention that fits my needs a little better and even though it has TWICE as many miles, I might like to buy it.

So, I'm just gauging interest (GI) if anyone is interested in buying the red S10 for $1,000 firm. I paid $1,200 plus tax/etc.

Runs great, there is shiny red paint under the oxidation!, some minor rust spots, very straight, newish tires, new clutch, newish exhaust, radio does not work, windshied has crack 1/2 up on passenger side, inspected (PA) to June 2013. Tonneau cover (that does not really connect in back). Great little parts-getter.

what kind of gas mileage do you see in this thing?

Not sure i've driven it enough to calculate. I'm guessing 15-21.

2wd or 4wd?

2wd. Longbed, Crank windows. No A/C. Sliding back window. Bench seat.

Just drove home from work in it and was reminded that more things work in this truck than in my Syclone (gauges, etc) and the truck has NO LEAKS (unlike the turd). Dry as a bone.

Also, no shakes, wobbles, or rattles at speed. It won't win any car shows...it's a straight beater...with lots of life left.

Mileage is 101,770 (and growing)

if it wasnt a 2.8l id consider it lol

Why not? The 2.8 is bulletproof. Ball-less yes. This isn't a syclone though. This truck is for commuting with dog food in the back.

Anyways...2.8's are great engines. Can't blow then up unless you drain the oil out of them.

Crank broke in mine when I owned a 83 way way back in the day. Really good gas mileage, couldn't pull a load up hill into a wind if it's life depended on it, but was a good truck. Made it into a great truck with a 350 in it.

That is what I was going to say Norm...great truck for a V8 swap, especially with the stick in it! If I weren't trying to unload my beater, and a couple of parts trucks, I would love to have it. Bump for ya, glwts.

This truck does not feel particularly slow nor weak. Maybe it's because it's a 5-speed. I live on a very steep hill and the truck has no issues with power.

Bump. Interest?

I'm having shoulder surgery in a few weeks and won't be able to drive (shift) this truck for about 2 months...so I'd like to get the other truck (automatic) if possible. (but can only if this one goes first)

my first vehicle was an 89 S-10 with the 2.8....it is a very good motor considering how hard I drove it.

Can you send me any more pictures? Mainly looking for the small rust spots and some undercarriage pics.
