Happy New Year to everyone from Anchorage where it's been consistently below zero the past several days:squint: Fortunately my wife bought a remote start for Christmas. No engine block heater needed; at least not yet!

Yea, Snowzilla as it's called, was torn down by the city once but it was rebuilt almost immediately. Since then the city has left it alone.

Re: Happy New Year from Alaska!

When I bought my Ty from Anchorage in November 2006, delivery was delayed because it was routinely MINUS 20+ and the owner would not stage the truck for shipping (outside lot).

I took delivery of the truck in February 2007. Worth the wait.

^^^ Great photo of Sy in the snow, btw. I need a winter truck. :(

My truck had been lowered by the previous owner so for the winter it has oversized studded snow tires to give a little more ground clearance. I'm running 235/60R16's which also make the speedo read about 5mph slower than your actually going. Today it's 15 below with 30 below expected for tonight. Hawaii sure sounds good this time of year!

Holy Crap dude! 30 below and the truck starts?! Mine is tucked away nice and warm in my parent's garage. When I did drive it in the snow years ago it was a trip that something that quick can actually navigate pretty well in the snow. I also got alot of strange looks from people as I passed them in the snow!

Yep, it starts with no problem. The autostart works well and the truck does great on the snow and ice. My garage is already full with 3 classic cars tucked away for the winter. My wife and I saw a white Typhoon yesterday afternoon, first one I've seen up here that's being driven in the winter, unfortunately we weren't driving the Sy at the time.

UFC 94 snowman vs. snowman!

Judging by the heavy equipment as a size comparison that snowman is bigger than ours. Snowzilla was built in a residential neighborhood in some guy's front yard. It's quite an attraction as a lot of people stop by to take pictures. This morning it was a balmy 20 below going to work.
