100 Votes so far! As great as that is, it should really be more considering how many members this forum has and how many trucks are out there. Heck the Facebook group has 1000+ members on its own, can it be that only 1/10th of those people have a truck and would want to go to an epic event?

Anyway, I know there are a good number of people who have lost interest/faith in the forum and don't contribute much or even come on anymore, if you know anyone like that, please pass the word for them to at least log in and vote. The OG's can avoid the drama and just cast a vote, no need to post or get wrapped up in any BS. ;)

Only thing that hold me back is gas $ things are really tight lately. Custody battle will do that. If $ wasn't the case I would do around 700.

If it were to be somewhere that we could do something as well as show off our rides, that would be better. Pigeon Forge, or a some other tourist spot would help get my wife involved and would help an approval for a 500 mile trip. Otherwise, 500 miles by myself will be kind of boring.

Realistically I would only be able to do 200-500, but would drive my SY anywhere (with a caravan for support) if I had the vacation time and money to do so.

I'm bummed that My XGT was in pieces during what could be the closest Nats to me for quite some time (Denver. & a 2 day drive). I can understand that the majority live on the east coast, but I'm one of those that has to put in vaca requests in Nov-Dec. So it may be just a web full of downloaded pics for me to enjoy in my future.:banghead:

I am in Alaska 9 moths of the year but if it falls at a time where I am at my home in Colorado, I'd go anywhere :)

Attended the first 3 Nationals driving from New Hampshire in my Motor Home and trailering the TYPhoon. Even going through Chicago and caravaning down through Indianapolis with 15 SY/TY's around me the whole way.
Still original owner of 92 TY and loving it.

I would go if everything lined up for me at that time.
Vegas would defenetly be fun.

Vegas is expensive. It is in the middle of the desert which means it is very far from civilization, ie outside most people's driving radius.

Plus it is way too expensive for our sized group. We couldn't afford any rentals out there.

Vegas is in the desert.
Too hot in July to Sept to enjoy outdoor activities.

Vegas is in the West.
No one out here will take the lead to organize it.
No one out here would attend anyway. Maybe 5 trucks.
Vegas is never going to happen, so drop it.

This thread / poll is about DISTANCE to travel. NOT LOCATION!

The attraction of Nats for potential atendees is to get good participation from others. The more peeps that go, the more that will want to go too. The majority of peeps are cognizant of time and distance to travel. The closer it is to them, the more likely they are to consider attending. Look at the poll, it's obvious. So it's a given that Nats needs to be East of the Mississippi, at a minimum. Maybe even in the NE (Carlisle) or South-ish (Pigeon Forge).

I have no idea what Morgan has in mind, but he has something cooking and his first inquiries are assessing attendance based on distance to travel. So let's keep this on topic: DISTANCE, not location.

next person to say Vegas gets banned :D

Vegas was discussed years ago, all the points Mike Renz mentioned are just the tip of the iceberg.

As far as Nevada is concerned, Reno has more significance to SyTys than Vegas does, but that isn't happening either.

*********PRELIMINARY BREAKDOWN*********

So I spent some time calculating everyone's vote, from their location to a randomly selected, VERY central location in the US to get an idea of how things would look. I will be doing this over again for different locations to attempt to get the highest percentage of people/trucks in attendance.

Since I don't have everyone's location (I'm actually only missing a dozen or so out of 140) I am going to list things as percentages based off of what I was able to figure out instead of actual numbers or people.

0-200 Mile Group:
0% of you will be attending. Seriously, 200 miles didn't even get some of you out of your own state.

200-500 Mile Group:
22% will attend
25% will probably attend (your mileage was just over 500 miles)
53% will not be attending

500-800 Mile Group:
40% will attend
24% will probably attend (your mileage was just over 800 miles)
36% will not be attending (from what I can see, this might change for some of you)

800-1000 Mile Group:
45% will attend
27% will probably attend (your mileage was just over 1000 miles)
27% will not be attending (maybe 2 of you in this group will change your mind)

1000-1300 Mile Group:
68% will attend
16% will probably attend (your mileage was just over 1300 miles)
16% will not be attending

1300-1500 Mile Group:
100% will attend

1500+ Mile Group:
100% will attend

Anything over 500 Mi, I'll have to fly:
100% of you will be flying

Anything over 1000 Mi, I'll have to fly:
75% will attend WITH TRUCKS!
25% will be flying

I'll show up, but it will be in a Daily/Rental car :
Not calculated at this time

Other (Please post) :
Not calculated at this time

I'm a former owner but this sounds like something I don't want to miss:
Not calculated at this time

So if anyone was wondering what I was doing with this information, there you have it. This is the most unbiased way of figuring out the BEST location to have an event.
