Johnny Lightning Typhoon

No. They had an incident at the factory where some workers accidentally mixed up the new Corvettes with the Camaros, and they had to call in the experts to help sort them out.

Now that's funny, I don't care who you are :rotf:

??

Anyone have a clue if they're going to make anymore Ty's?

I haven't seen anything lately at all. I believe JL has stopped production for now as they haven't had anything released at all this year...something is up. I know they were bought out this past year, maybe they are focusing on other parts of the company. Maybe Tom (TomZ) can chime in and tell us whats up.

I think they stopped production once they found out how much that Radar Blue paint costs.

Re: Johnny Lightning Typhoon

So, I was recently surfing the internets for information on the current status of Johnny Lightning, not even looking for the Syclones and Typhoons and came across an add for a Prototype/pre-production die-cast Typhoon, initialed my Tom Zahorsky. So, I picked it up for more than I probably should have paid. I made the purchase 2 days before going home on vacation and by weird coincidence the seller was in my home town, so I arranged just to pick it up rather than have it shipped. I see in this thread that Tom Z posted up here a few times. I am wondering if he's still here or if anyone knows how to get hold of him so I can maybe have this thing verified? Can't figure out why these are posting upside down though:rant:

Re: Johnny Lightning Typhoon

I got confirmation from Mr. Tom Z that my tiny Typhoon is in fact a pre-production version, and initialed by him. The difference is the wheels. According to Mr.Z they were never produced with that particular wheel.

Nice.

What color is that? I realize lighting can change things, but it looks pink/salmon on my screen.

Ironically, those look like the real wheels.

I picked up a wht/wht and the police one a few months ago, had no idea these were that collectible. So is the johnny lightning company making these off pics on the web? I mean how else are some of these coming with custom wheels like the blk and gold one

The wht/wht, police, and black with gold wheels were all mass-produced. The one Green73 picked up appears to be a one-off.

Yeah, I collect them too...but "collectibility" as a value proposition is highly questionable. It's more for fun.

There are people on this board who can give more insider info regarding how JL picks trucks to create.

Yes they're going off internet pictures.

they already made the gold wheels for the trans am car, so it was easy for them to replicate the black ty w/ gold wheels.

The color is a bit more orange than the production red ones now that I look at it next to one.
