What is up with all the trailers?? You should drive it to nats, maybe trailer it home, but thats a different story

I just finished my transgo hd-2 shift kit install in my 4l80e tonight and fixed another exhaust leak. Redid brake lines by master cylinder yesterday. In the last two weeks I have rewired fuel pump controls into the XFI, changed cooling fan, welded up holes in core support and firewall, pulled oil pan and notched for clearance on front diff, put a valve in the heater core feed, and I forget what all else. I think im about to the end of my pre-nats to-do list other than the usual cleaning and detailing. Its getting closer and Im getting excited about making the trip, I hope its worth it.

well trailering it home after it breaks down means that will cost more than just trailering up there and back and alot less worry too knowing that you have a safe way back home.

I'm excited too i went to the kc2000 nats without ever owing a truck and had a blast now that i own one it's really gonna be hella fun

I would but it has been my luck with going to meets in the past and the truck breaking. happens just about everything. When i bought the truck i drove it from NM to Ga and then toasted the trans. Rather be safe than sorry. Plus the Duramax gets better milage towing than the sy does on the interstate. So it is a no brainer.

Most of the interior went back in today - got the passenger seat and some odds/ends tomorrow. Also tomorrow - install IC system, front bumper, and some other misc crap. Tuesday night it goes to the inspection station for R-title, emissions test and tags. Pass, it makes it to Nats. Fail, it likely stays home, as they don't have another schedule opening till we leave.

After it's legal I have to change the oil, swap propshafts, install F/R safety loops, boost gauge, EGR plate, rear sway bar, overflow tank, and electric dump. Then a moderate cleaning, although I'm sure it looks better dirty. We're leaving Tuesday morning, so we shall see what gets done...

It'll be a nervous 11 hour drive.

Good luck to everyone!

Hey Harmon....just so you wont feel bad...

Cam gear sheared off all three bolts...stripped 4 teeth off.

Pulling the motor out this afternoon, tearing it all down, cleaning/checking/replacing.

*hopefully ready for Nats*
