New Owner of 1992 Ty # 1523

Just wanted to post pictures of my new project. I bought this truck from my neighbor last week. I am the 3rd owner. He had owned it for 7 years. He had bought the truck from his boss, the orginal new owner. I kept asking him if he would sell it and he finally gave in. The truck has 94K and is in pretty good shape inside and out. I would like to be able to run 1/4 ETs in the high 12s or low 13s with this truck, but I need advice on what to add/change first. The truck is pretty much stock except for a large exhaust that was installed by the first owner. I actually purchased it for 5K. Couldn't pass up the great deal plus I've always wanted one. Check out some pictures of the truck.

stole it. nice score.

whats the story on the rims.... looks like 3 of them have original rubber and taken off a Sy since they are red. start with getting that thing closer to the ground, then worry about ETs

Thanks guys.

The paint was very dull when I bought it so I gave it a quick wash and wax and the shine came right back. I thought it was going to need new paint. Eventually I will take it in for a good detail & buff. What is the best way to lower these?

Start off with a full tune up and look at a scan tool to make sure the truck runs 100% (it probably isn't right now). Ince you have it in that state it should run high 13's and your goals are basically a good runnng Ty wih a Chip.

Thanks for the advise. I will tune it up as soon as the funds are available.

Currently looking for more garage space. Have full garage right now with two other cars.

Not sure where the rims came from. My neighbor bought the truck that way. I do have a spare one that he gave me.

Blocks in the back, adjust torsion bars in the front. But some will say to keep it stock height!! ;)

Undoubtedly, you'll have lots of questions. Use the "search" feature on the index bar above...because just about everything you can think of has been discussed at some point. Tons of good info buried on SyTy.net
