Im 90% sure im going...
my dilemma is that Map Quest, yahoo maps and Rand McNally all show different routes.

the person who first mentions the route i take gets a beer at the nats

That's a good route. It's the same way I came to the nationals last year.
Let me know when your coming though and we can drive together most of the way.

i know...but i'm sure thats the closest i've come. Well...mouthwash has some alcohol in it. Not that i swallow mouthwash though.

any comments on road conditions etc ?
I will be looking for a cheap motel about 3 to 5 hrs away from the hotel on either route as well

Route 1 takes you thru Iowa. That should be reason enough. You do want to be able to tell people that you've been to Iowa right? Have you ever seen corn?

I don't know what your idea of cheap is, but there's a nice super 8 in Davenport Iowa. It's right beside the Thunder Bay grill. A really good place to eat. I think it's about $50 to $55 a night.

ahhh so he was the canadian in the red mustang.. matt said he drove the wrong way down the highway or something..
