Re: Powerglide adapter???? Help!

I don't think there is any modulator or cable for manual shift. It looks like I will need the 7q-35a adapter from advanced adapters in conjunction with stock sy tail housing to mate it all together. Like 85 bucks. Should be within a few inches length of the stock 700.. My Gilbert shaft should adjust enough for any differences in length. My Gilbert can be expanded or collapsed!! Not sure if any other brand propshafts do this???

Re: Powerglide adapter???? Help!

Looks like its not gonna work! Propshaft is extremely close to pan and linkage. Gonna skip on the idea! I'm probably going with th350 from coan with trans brake. I was quoted $2800 big ones!! This has the lightened internals exc.exc. they told me it would aprouch the efficiency of a glide..

I know a lot of people have had good luck with Coan, but we had a ton of trouble with them in our old 9 second '69 Camaro. We kept breaking sprags in them. One right after another. It would break, take it back to them, they'd replace the sprag for $900, make 2 passes, break another one, take it back to them, $900 to replace it again. This happened 3 times in a month. They never once stood behind their product, gave us a discount on repairing it, or anything. Threw the Coan away and went with an ATI and never had issues again with that car. I know of someone else on the forum that I cán't say there name, but he just grenaded a Coan transmission in his Ty. You might want to call RPM Transmissions and see what they can do for you. They have done several SyTy transmissions and the owner owns a very fast Syclone.
