I figured it was time to replace :sad: I have one more question to ask.... I am going back to college on Saturday and it is a 6 hour drive. How much longer can I drive it with the boot torn? The boot was in all likeley hood torn when I came home so I have probably driven it for quite a while with it torn. Thanks
once the boot is torn it has exposed the internal joints to sand and dirt ect wich can make them weak and beak, spitting out the remaining half of the Prop shaft spinning into your tranny, the bottom of the seat, possibly thousands of Dollars in damadge, the Prop shaft loop prevents the shaft from coming loose if it fails therefore saving your tranny and undercarrage
if your concerend about the ride home and I would be, just remove the prop shaft (8) bolts on hex head wrenches and drive home in 2wd .very fun buy a camera for the smoke show

You can just get the boot repaired, no need to replace the whole shaft.
Aaron, check your mail for the email about the local former sy owner at the driveshaft shop.
I got my shaft rebuilt by him for CHEAP compared to others a LONG time ago and no problems since. Boot tore once, he replaced it for free. Other than that, no probs - and I've tried my hardest to destroy it.
