wow, I saw a new Z06 do an 11.79 in the quarter one time and I thought that was incredible. I wonder if any tuning has been done? He says "Bone Stock" and I think thats funny because thats the nick name I have for my buddies girlfriend.

That was my thought. I think those times are realistic for a stock Z06. They run 11.8's off the shelf.....

I know some of the better drivers on the Corvetteforum had previosuly ran 11.2-11.3's with upper mid 120 traps with them, so I guess it doesn't completely shock me on well prepped trrack with colr temp they could squeak a couple more .1's. It does surprise me that anyone can run those type of time with street tires, I would expect the tire to go up in smoke.

Not really....maybe 3 gears through the 1/4. They will crank out around 80 MPH alone in 1st gear close to redline.

That is a track time, but a novice driver can rip off high 11's ON THE STREET with one of these cars!!!

First goes to 61mph at 7k actually...

Ranger had the previous best stock tire time at like 11.1 or so and he ran on a Nitto DR I think and cut a 10.89.

Actually you know what, I just opened the thread again and Ranger's old record times were there in his sig. This guy Jamie set the new stock tire and DR records the other day and took the record from Ranger. Here's Ranger's sig with his now old record times:

'06 Z06 red 100 passes
Bone Stock Stock Tires……11.13 127.20 1.76 60'
Bone Stock DRs......….…….10.85 129.50 1.67 60'

I could buy the E.T with a set of sticky tires, but the mph is about 5mph higher than all of the road tests I?ve seen. At power levels for 125mph traps (505whp in a 3130lb car + 150lb driver), 130mph takes about 55-60whp more power.

Don?t get me wrong, I think the Z06 rocks like nobody?s business, but that?s a very healthy ?stock? LS7.

Don’t get me wrong, I think the Z06 rocks like nobody’s business, but that’s a very healthy “stock” LS7.

I have heard that the LS7 are underrated by 30-40hp and magazines tend not to be the best driver in world. it still just seems unbeleivable that it can do squeak a high 10 or even going back to low 11's on street tires. GM must have done a bunch work on the suspension and perhaps throttle response (eletronic thottle), because all my buddies running c4 in the 11 sec range typically lost 3/4 sec (and major traction issue) when they were running street tires.
