Re: Syclone#1784

Yeah nice to see your working it back to life again. I'm lucky my truck has zero rust on the original body and paint. Even more so for being a northern truck.

Man...that Sy looked hammered before you got it! I also like the wheels......looks like the cladding is in realy nice condition aswell! It's amazing what these trucks can transform into when the right person gets a hold of one:)

Re: Syclone#1784

why did sean decide to sell the truck? looks good:tup:

I got married (Aug. 9, 2008) so I sold the toy to put a cleaning deposit / first months rent for where we are living right now / wedding ring........and so on...

RY368 - In your comment "It's amazing what these trucks can transform into when the right person gets a hold of one" I hope you weren't talking about me......cause I replaced dang near everything on that truck.

Brian - I'm glad you sanded the roof, it looks so much better, I always ment to do that. To bad you sold your other truck, now what are you going to drive when I take my sy back? :rotf:

Let me retract part of that comment then......."when the right people get a hold of one".

Meaning.....that I see some Sy's that were never taken care of and just get beat to phuck then pawned off on another guy that'll just give up and never replace or fix anything........then just parted out!

Thank god you two got a hold of it and made it what it is now!!!

Keep it up. I hate to see things just left to rust away.

What traction bar setup is that?

Re: Syclone#1784

nice work, but wouldn't you have felt better taking the windshield out? looks like the rust is also there. it's tough if it get back in a year and you have to redo it again.

Very true, it did cross my mind. Decided to go with a bandaid fix for now. Paint is last on my Sy's rebuild list for now. I was just tired of looking at active rust everyday. It was the first thing to catch my eye, especially since the truck is slammed. Now the roof has been primered, sanded and is smooth as silk.
I need all new gaskets for the windows, front, back, doors anyway. A lot of sun damage. Figure I'll order all at once. Gotta put $$$ in the important places right now. :) I'm working on a tune and getting the LS1 brake setup from Acehaag. http://www.syty.net/forums/showthread.php?t=65552 I can't wait to post some pics.

You're right though, probably still a small amount of rust under the gasket. I'll knock it out when the entire body gets stripped down for paint in about a year. This truck is going to require a lot of prep work anyway. I don't anticipate there being much more rust or enough time for the possible remaing rust to do any damage.

It would be nice to be able to get a few kills/suckers to pay for my paint :rotf:...that woudl certainly speed completion of the project up. WHile the truck looks like a hunk of junk people tend to have a little more confidence believing they are faster and take the bait. I just blasted my buddies bimmer last week. His jaw dropped when I flew by him like he was parked. Seemed even more satisfying to me with a lousy paint job for some reason.

Great wheels! What's the E-Stop button for?

Engine kill, electrical shutdown since the battery has been relocated to the bed. Any location other than stock requires an engine kill switch for my local track. Now, if I can only get it to the track

thats why you go to sac. all they care about is you paying to enter and you dont leak anything on the track. Ive seen people there run 9's w/o cages. To tell the truth though, infinion has only inspected my vehicles 1 out of 4 times and all they asked me was, "where did you put the nitrous bottle?"
