I swapped the stock governor out of the trans with a "5k" gov I aquired(sp?) recently. Now the trans shifts even sooner than before. As in 1-2 at 4600 RPM vs 1-2 at 4900 RPM with the old one.
Any thoughts? The only diff between the old shift points/governor and the new stuff is its COLD out(way lower IATS) and Im only running 17-18psi where as I was running 25+ psi before. Would the lower boost cause the early shift at WOT?
Im trying to get the 2-3 shift to happen a little later as it was shifting early IMO at the nats(shift happened at 4625 RPM) which pulled the eng WAY down on RPM.
BTW... The shifts dont seem as hard/firm now either with the 5k gov in there. :-? :-? I guess I could put the old one back in and try to manually shift it 2-3 but all I see happening is me bouncing off the rev limiter with my slow ass reactions. :roll:
