What size is the crossover? There is such a thing as too large. Looks good though Mike

Re: Ty 0073 Bowtie Build

I have been super busy lately and haven't had much time to work on the truck. I finally got some time recently and have been setting some aside to get this POS going. So far, I have had nothing but problems with the bowtie heads as far as what fits goes. I had to get new push rods, clearance valve covers, clearance VALVE COVER GASKETS! I really can see why people give up on this stuff but since I am dumb, I keep going:lol: Had also to clearance the $700 oil pan. So for now, I am waiting to get the valve covers back from having fittings welded on. Here are some pics of my very slow progress.

Not that this will make the truck any faster, I decided to POR15 the front part of the frame. Hoping for once and done outcome. Had to spend 40 minutes pulling the front suspension off first of course.

Started sand blasting the frame, WHAT A MESS!

So that's it for now, hoping to have the frame done by the end of the week. What I have done so far took about two hours. Gun keeps clogging due to moisture, I really need to get some good filters. Stay tuned for more.

Got the front diff back in along with the rack and pinion and control arms. I also had to get the solid mount pads on, these things simply don't fit, I had to drill the holes out to make it work.

On to getting the engine in the truck.

Finally got the new rack mount built. Now I have a comfy 1/2" of clearance. Got the new Borgeson shaft, amazing how a half inch can make you start all over. Installed the shaft last night and hoping to have headers finalized when I get back from Jersey next weekend.

the adjustable wrench is like the swiss army knife for a mechanic- you can pry and hammer with it- it works on metric and standard
