since no one has asked yet....

has the oil sump been modified? looks like its been chopped at the bottom and lowered?

also... when you get the time, can you go into detail on the DIS.... thats a badass setup and i know many are dying to do the same setup.

i thinking this would be a great group purchase to get together....

nice work nolan... keep it up and keep us updated.

1.) R those aftermarket Fuel rails w the AN line going into the front of the Rail ?

Yes, we had those custom made locally. Each rail will be fed at the rear. The lines at the front go to the regulator inlets, from there back to the tank.

The AN line into the front of the Int. Man. - is that the Turbo water return ?

Yes, the turbo has a water cooled center section, the line to the intake and the one to the bottom right of the block are the coolant lines.

I see U have one of those supposedly upgraded Alternator fans - where did U get that ?

That is actually a 145 amp "large case" alternator from a newer truck. It does take some mods to mount up nicely. More to come on that later.

Yeah, that involved grafting two oil pans together. Should add about a liter of volume.

After we get all the bugs worked out it will be open info. For now we'll stay quiet on that setup. It does involve quite a bit of work and some custom fabbing.

Thanks for the encouragement everyone. We actually lowered the monster in the truck tonight. The pace should pick up now. :D

*eDist was around $300 last i saw

*LS1 coils - $100 or so used

*custom wires $50-100 (terminal at coil is same as LT1, LS1, and *new* 4.3 plug wires)

*create some sort of cam sensor - Nolan & Tony used the newer 4.3 distributor for cam sensor, and a crank trigger for the RPM (crank) signal. Dig up the distributor for say $50, crank trigger $100-150 I'm guessing.

Not a cheap, or easy modification (lots of wiring to do), but it will be worthwhile IMO. The LS1 coils have been used in other applications with great results, though I don't know of anyone that has done more than 100hp per coil (not that it *can't* be done, just no one has pushed it there yet). Some Supra's are using them, and I'm sure those will run 'em past that pretty soon.

If you want to do more reading on this, we've had several discussions about it in the Tech section I believe. We tried to run the LS1 coils with eDist on an oddfire motor a while ago, and had no luck, but we are guessing that is due to the oddfire system throwing us off. I am working on setting a system up on a bench to test it out.

FYI I'll really be impressed when you get the E-Dist working with an Oddfire motor  E-Dist schmeDist I'd just be happy to get rid of my wicked wheelhop let alone go E-Dist.
