Upper IC brackets

I have two upper IC brackets, a long one and a short one. I've never taken them off before and I didn't have any when I took it off last time. So now that I'm redoing my IC hoses I figured I'd put them on...but I don't know how they attach or where they attach. I see two brackets, one over my passenger valve cover and one by the bottom of my AC compressor. Just need to know where to put them. Thanks.

one comes from the intake manifold stud and I believe goes to the center of the IC.

The other 2, attach to studs on the exhaust manifold and go to the front and rear of the IC accordingly. I dont remember which one goes where, but they really only fit in one way, so if the bend goes the wrong way or it too long or short, either flip it around or try the other one :)

FYI I have never seen a SyTy that had the bracket #6, and mine I only use the front and back ones.

Same here. I tried running without and it would blow the cooler off the throttlebody.

I have yet to blow the tb hose off running only 2 brackets.

I also use the T-Bolt style clamps that hold a HELLuva lot beter than worm gears.

I only use the bracket in the center that connects to the intake labeled "1" above. Those other send heat directly from the exhaust manifolds to the IC.

Doesn't blow off even at 22psi. Has been on there that way for close to a year.

However I did modify it a bit. After I get moved I will post some pics.

That cleared up a lot, when Morgan was saying they attached to the exhaust manifold I went out and was looking for a bracket I didn't see initially. Guess it's the manifold bolts that hold it on. Thanks for the diagram.

it sure did...i'm right in the middle of exhaust manifolds and turbo in my garage at home...exhaust manifolds installation has to be on the top three of the biggest PIA's on these trucks...i needed the stud locations on the drivers side... my laptop has copper rtv all over the keyboard and mousepad now...

edit:my PS bracket must be a KB headers bracket because it only utilizes one stud instead of two...

ya i think the ATR and KB instructions both said to cut the PS bracket in half. I dont run that bracket on any of the trucks I build and have never had a problem. you might wanna consider leaving it off.

i'll probably do that then...there is one more bracket that goes from the intake manifold to the a/c compressor (i think)...my ty has it but not the sy :-? guess i have to rob that one...i can't wait to finish this head swap...should be done by tomorrow if i don't buy any beer...
