If you connected red to brown, and black to black, of the old motor, you have the polarity of the Johnson reversed.

I thought Johnson motors were isolated ground, but perhaps not. Hard to believe a new pump is "shorted" out of the box. They are tested during manufacturing.

ya I looked that up but keep blowning fuses, so I disconnected pump and tried straight wiring the pump to battery and melted the wires, gotta be internally shorted. 160 bucks down the drain:(

Decided to put the ac back on. This included all the components, box, lines, brackets and compressor. I haven't had ac since the install of headers and the big turbo. it seems to be a little tighter than I remembered.

Worked on refinishing the wheels...again. All painted and ready for clear. Need to verify with POR15 on wait time for paint to dry before Glisten application.

Following this attentively! Follow up??

Called Por15 tech support on Monday. They have no tech info on a combo painted/raw aluminum wheel application, even though the product has been out for more than 20 years. I told them they need to step up and do some experimenting so the consumer doesn't screw it up with all the combo wheels out there to restore. All they said was that the paint must be 100% dry, then have to lightly scuff the dried paint with 600 grit(white scotchbrite), reprep the raw aluminum with AP120, rinse and dry. They had no comment on what the ap120 would do to the paint if it gets on it. That's not apart of their prep on painted surfaces. That is only "scuff with 600 grit". The paint is Duplicolor colormatch lacquer, so cure time should be quicker that enamel. Monday after work, I prepped and sprayed a 1 X 24" aluminum the way their instructions say. I also saved a couple of pieces of tape from the original shoot to do sample dabs of Glisten to see if it reacts. I'll try tiny sample mix tomorrrow to see if the paint is dry enough. I'll then scotchbrite the paint, re-polish the lip, ap120 only the lip, re-scotchbrite the face, wash and dry. They look fantastic right now, but would have a short 'clean life'. I sure hope this works.

Its heavy as hell so most of you wouldn't like it.. My goal was something that would last a long time and still start even when the truck has sat for a month or two...
