I get them all man. I'm gonna meet up with you freaks again sometime. I made a promise not to lose the firends I made from owning that truck. Life's just been NUTS, but I finally have a badass job, a badass girl, and hopefully soon I can get back into the scene a little more. The only good thing is that it seems the Lightning guys here are just as rabid as the Sy/Ty guys. Hell, I just got back from Test N' Tune about an hour ago.

HAHAHAHA, I'm still on Google baby.

Ironic how this was the first pic of me and my truck, and whaddya know, the hood's up!!! hehehe man I can;t believe the sh*t I went through on that thing, and I'd STILL do it all over again if given the chance :D

Get this...

Me and Ian are hanging out the other week in Orlando at a local streetrace spot. We got the trucks there and in conversation we get asked if we knew Josh who had the Grn/Gry and what ever happened to you.

This isnt the only time Ive been stopped and told stories from people who knew you and the truck. The best was putting gas in the truck and a cop pulled up next to me. I thought I was in trouble for something, but he asked about my truck and proceded to tell me he used to hang out with a guy named Josh in G-ville and his Ty.

WTF dude. Your a damn icon.

Yeah, it's obvious I screwed up enough with my Ty and made a complete ass out of myself enough times in the Sy/Ty circle to leave a lasting impression. Not so sure that's a good thing though :D I'll go ahead and throw syty.net in a firefox tab with all my other truck stuff and try to be around a little more. It's amazing that I've been gone for soooooooooo long and I swear it feels like I never missed a beat with you guys. MUCH LOVE!
OK, time to go pound my liver on some Gin and Tonics.

You guys take it easy!

ediyt: I see most of the old crew on this site, but is Tom Argue still around? I owe that guy like 14,000 beers for all the wrenching he did. Keith G gets about 10,000 as well.

Tom now owns Chris's Marlboro and its for sale. He sold the wht/wht to purchase the Marl.

Keith is in and out here on the board, but stays in close contact with the crew.

Josh,
Damn dude nice to see you are still kicking. I will say your SyTy "jinx" is really a myth. You actually touched Barb's Typhoon at the 98 Nats while I took your picture and much to our surprize it continued to run, and still does!
Take care and nice to see you around.

Yeah, the jinx only applies to FL owners. Took years to finally rid any lasting affects of anything Josh touched.

Now he wants to hang out with us again...

Hey Joe, how the heck are you?

3 wins, 1999, 2000 and 2001. I didnt go to the nats in 2002 so my reign ended ;-).

Hope you are well.

Yeah, i'm still here and have been even before the start of syty.net :) I think i was on the mailing list for about 2 or 3 years before I took a chance and started syty.net I still have the Syclone and a white Ty, some have seen the glow in the dark "flames" at the chicago nats. For the past few years things have been different. Marriage, kids and house get the attention now, so the trucks are put at that bottom of the list. So my day's are pretty much filled with everything but syty stuff..

Hey here Holy Roller!! How are mama and the kids doin?? I havent got pics in a long time.

Things around my house have changed. Long story short: Barb and I are parents now. We got custody of our neice over a year ago and spend much of our time raising the kid now. Well, I do when I am not in Iraq. Been here since January.
When you gonna come down to Texas and visit?

Just curious as to where all the "old" timers have went and hidden at. Been gone for awhile and just looking to see where everyone from the old days have gone to....Steve Nunley, Ivan Phipps, Peter Humblias, Chris P., Wanda Brooks, Cheryl, Pete and Nicki Gardepe, Guy Lavy, Brian Hartman, Sean Morris, and all the true syty gurus.

I happened upon this thread when doing an internet search on my name. Funny how one always gets drawn back ;)

We are still alive and kicking. After reminiscing on this 8 page thread, makes me want to attend another syty nats - and back up the NATS shirts we buy every year from Jill. :)
Still have the Ty - although it sits in the drive under snow at present. is it almost spring yet? :D

Hey Nicki! Is there a cover between the Ty and the snow? :) If you want to attend another Nats, NatsX is the one to attend! (This shameless plug for NatsX brought to you by SyTy.org :) ) Hopefully Nadine and I will make it... but my brother's wedding may interrupt

Nice to know the OG's are still out there. :tup;

That's funny T Jay - Jill said about the same thing  Pete and I are heading to Vegas next spring to celebrate our 20th anniversary, so we'll see about another trip in September. The 10th anniv would be a good one. Haven't been to one since 2000 (shameless I know).

I would have never met any of you if it wasn't for jeff.
When we bought the Sy I rebuilt the motor and drove it to NewAlbany In., Whent to the HH Gregs to buy some speaker wire and fusese. Some guy told me about this old man DannyE in NewAlbany with a GN graveyard and two Tys' and a Sy.....So I paid him a visit...Helped him out around the garrage working on a Buick.
ANY WAY he told me about Jeff and Zip Tie Racing.....Some how talked to Jeff and we met, Got to see the truck he just put coil-overs on...think it was e-rues'?????
He told me about the board and I'm glad to meet you all.

Re: What's happened to the "old" timers?

Man alot of this thread brings back memories. I suppose I got my start in 1996 on the list cause I hosted the 1st Great Lakes Gathering at my parents house in Naperville, IL (Chicago) back in 1997.

My name back then was H8Fords or GregW. I lived near Greg Kotlinski from Naperville.

I used to run the SyTy Classifieds site which is what helped Green buy his Syclone and get into the madness back in the day. Funny I have been around for over 10 years and just bought a Typhoon two days ago and drove my own truck for the 1st time Thursday as well!!

Good to see so many people still around.

Funny Marty never replied... Jason Leach didnt reply either.
Not much of a reunion without them!

Re: What's happened to the "old" timers?

I am not that old on this board, however, I was on the old syty mailing list. I went to the Nats in 98 and caravaned up with FAST in 99. I am about out of the syty scene myself. I may end up selling the Ty. I remember the first Ty I saw in KC, it was "chromeboy" I had been riding around that dang park forever and I spotted a white Ty and had to pull in behind it to figure out where the meet actually was.
