Baythan, wait until a couple of months before Nats X and tell them you have an anniversary that you just have to attend. It even has the benefit of being true. If they ask who it's for just say YOU!
You could also make up a wedding for a relative, or make up a relative and say they are getting married. Unless you are doing this all the time, you should get away with it.
There will always be another conference, there will only be one Nats X. As the Highlander said, "There can be only one".

With the truck back together and on the road we should be in attendance..... I'm working on putting my Camaro back together now. I will bring that car too. It's got a GN engine going down in it.
I hope you don't knock me for bring'n it along... It was running high 10's so with this new combo it should be a bit better than that...

I think this might be my first year, if i continue to pour the money and time into my truck instead of going fly fishing I am sure I will attend.

My wife and I are trying to figure out how to make this happen... we're only 300 friggin' miles away! We're supposed to be in Wyoming that same weekend.... wonder what kind of excuses I can come up with :? The Sy should be in great shape by then...

glass and taillight are all replaced i just need to straighten out the quarter panel. But the transmission went out on me a few months ago and i got no money to fix it so that is why it won't make it out there. And i am not spending the summer in kc this year so it is like a 2 hour drive to my ty.

I should be there as well this year. As long as the TY doesnt fall apart that is. List of things to do:
Tranny
FMIC
Stock CCHE for trans cooler
Front diff rebuild
half shaft replacement
new front tires
rebuild propshaft?
new windshield
tint windows
and clean the piss out of it!! Hopefully I can satisfy that list before we go. Im pretty sure I can. Oh yeah, wanted to get some KYB's all the way around and lower it back to 3" instead of the 2" it is now. Anyone one know what it would cost to tow a TY to CO from there? Ive been meaning to cakll for an estimate but kep forgetting, need to make sure I have the extra cash incase it comes down to it and enough for the rental car just incase.
