Re: Wrecksurrection

way on the big side, unless boosted or high compression.

Or if at high altitude? All i can say is that on my friends 305 we had a holley 750 on it and it ran great. We down sized to a 600 and it ran like shit. I experienced the same thing on my Vette when I went to a 650 from the already 795 rochester.

Quickstop [UK]

Combating adversyty.
Re: Wrecksurrection

What stall is your TC on the 80e and what turbo are you running? Good work man! I wish I had time to work on mine and a big place :)

We did everything we could possibly do. I bought that Edelbrock re'jet re-rod kit went through springs and everything. The combo it told us to use ran best but it still couldn't hold a candle to the factory Rochester on the Vette.

Making very slow progress right now. I forgot to install the range selector inside the 80e and had buttoned up the trans. It has sat for about a month before I finally decided to pull the pan back off yesterday. I get my converter on Wednesday which is the piece I have really been waiting for, the cladding should be painted sometime this week.

Here are a few pics I took today after I power washed it in the driveway

The truck will be on hold for a few weeks until I finish the 1951 Chevy in my garage. I need to focus on it so I can get it the hell out of my driveway.

Re: Wrecksurrection

OK, I got my friends car out of my way now. I have spent the last few months getting his car together to repay him for painting the Typhoon. I now have ALL of the cladding back so it is back to work. Only real downer is that I have no faith this will be done for NATS. Its no bullshit time though and I am going to beat myself within an inch of my life to get it done.

GAME ON

Last night I lost the push clips I bought for the cladding and I didn't find them until about 10:30 so I only got install the driver side cladding. Here are pics of what a wreck the truck is right now.

Driverside cladding installed

The painter is supposed to come over today to color sand and buff the cladding, or at least start on it. I need to get down there and get to work on the passenger side. I'll post up later.

Re: Wrecksurrection

More progress. I have spent the last week getting my old heater vents ready to make them accessory units. I have the left side heater vent fiberglassed and drilled for oil pressure and water temp. I glassed off the center ehater vents and cut them out for the Isac boost/alky controller, CEL for the 80e and the Moates knock meter.

I even fixed my stereo from when some jackasses robbed my house last year, tried to rip it out and failed miserably.

As for the body, the entire truck has cladding on and has been sanded, buff and swirl remover done. It looks amazing. I was going to pop a few shots but I need to clean all of the polishing compound off first. So far the biggest hold ups have been looking for parts I cant seem to find. I am almost done with the wiring, just a little bit here and there left. I am hoping to start the 80e install next weekend. After that it will be minor crap.

I like the gauges but I seen them months ago not in your custom mounting though, I hope to see it completed at NATS

Re: Wrecksurrection

Finally getting this thing close to done. Today I Got the 80e installed. Well actually, Me and a friend of mine put it in yesterday and today I installed the adapters (which was bs in itself) the t-case and built/installed the new cross member.

I decided to make this a different kind of install. I remember back in the good ol days my 80 Vette's x-member just had two bolts on each side and a through bolt inside to install the member. To be honest, I get tired of sticking sockets in hole's in the frame and manning the wrench at the same time so I decided to make this easy as can be. I drilled holes in the bottom of the frame and welded a nut with washer in the hole

Here is the cross member

and all put together

Then the other day I built my knock o-meter box, wired it all up.

So whats left? Well, about an hours or two of wiring, I need to get the drive shafts in, cooler lines hooked up, converter bolts, then inside the truck a little bit of interior work,
engine bay just needs IC piping tightened up turbo oil filter installed and a little wiring and to fix the hood rods. I hope to order a couple more chip adapters this week and maybe fire this bitch up next weekend.
