3 bar map sensor

I have a syclone with kenne bell chip, kenne bell injectors, vortec heads, ported intake, comp cams 422 cam, walbro 255 fuel pump, atr exhuast and air intake. I want to turn up the boost on my truck it has the stock turbo, would a 3 bar map sensor be of any benefit. Also how much boost can I run. Any help would be appreciated.

Throwing that KB chip in the trash is your best best, unless driving faster to engine rebuild shop is the goal.

A 3 bar map sensor is only going to help you if your chip is calibrated to use it. It's ill advised to raise your boost above 15psi with the 2 bar map sensor, because that is all that it can read and at levels above that the air fuel mixture will begin to lean out.

More than likely.

x2 on ditching the KB chip. Get an ultimate chip or a custom chip burned. There are plenty of people on this board that can help you out with that.

Do you know what size injectors your KB injectors are?

Re: 3 bar map sensor

Just FYI, the reason the KB chip is bad is because some of them disable the ignition timing retard completely... the KB means KaBoom.

Oh, and about going above 15psi, before I was edjumacated on the subject, I was running 18psi with the 2Bar and blew the ring landings of my pistons out...

No, 60 pound injectors are rather uncommon.

You've got a really wild combo on your hands, and by wild, I mean very unusual. Did you buy the truck pre-modified?

The first thing I would do is get a chip and injector set that match, whether that means getting a chip tuned for 60 pound injectors, or switching to popular 50# injectors and getting a 50# chip.

Your next order of business would be a turbo upgrade; the stock turbo is adequate for a bone stock motor, yours has a healthy cam and the Vortec heads, making the stock turbo a severe bottleneck. I wouldn't be surprised if your stock turbo is out of efficiency at 10 PSI (in other words, at 15 psi it would be slower than 10 PSI!).

If you are a new owner; you are going to have your hands full with that truck; so take it easy (especially on the gas pedal) and slow, and read up. There's a lot to learn and whether your truck has a stock bottom end or not, it won't tolerate the type of heavy detonation that can happen with a very mismatched, untuned combo. There's a guy who lives around me that's blown at least 3 fully built (forged bottom end) motors, each one in less than a month, because he could not grasp this concept - so be careful.

Ditto. That chip ate 3 motors before I knew what I really had in it.

I would get a custom chip for your set of injectors. 60s are very popular, just not with SyTys.

Re: 3 bar map sensor

Can you still get an ultimate chip for 50# s Im looking for one myself the site says all 50# are discontinued. It this true?? Id like to play with the ultimate before moving to tunerpro.

Re: 3 bar map sensor

You could also have someone edit your current chip, to ensure the timing retard feature is intact, and leave it alone otherwise if it is working well for you.
