Does anybody know where Sy #0001 and #2998 are? Are they in a museum, or what? It would be cool to own the very first or the very last

I know where #2 and #2988 are, but thats about it. Merk probably knows of their locations.

Also, there were only 2995 Sys, not 2998.

I ran into an old man claiming to have sy #1, he was in Beverly Hills CA, althought i didnt see the vin im pretty sure he wasnt lying. That was at least three years ago when i had my syclone, before it was stolen.
I just had to throw that in. Oh by the way we were driving, no museum for the first and last.

If there really was only 2995 syclones built in 1991 and 3 or 4 in 1992, then I know where 2995 is. He was trying to sell it awhile back.

"There also a few slightly different numbered Sy's, so there may not be a VIN 2995."

Ooops, according to the above post I am wrong. Maybe there are more than the 2995 sy built in 1991 due to those odd VIN numbered Sy's

And I know of a 91 Sy that isn't 880XXXX serial number, it's 852XXXX. I'm not sure if anyone really know how many Prototypes, and/or pre-prototypes built. So that sort of makes you wonder if there weren't some others built besides 0001-2995.

I agree, there was discussion of the unusual VINed Syclones, in fact Syclone #113 is one that comes to mind. Scott Husner owns the normal VIN Sy 113 but someone else on this board (either Zac or person with email ZipIoc@aol.com I think) owns the unusual VIN Syclone #113. Marty or Merk made a comment that it's a real Syclone but there was no explanation that I can remember, about how this plays into the grand scheme of things. It would seem there must be nonexistant VINs or more than 2998 or something.

I wouldn't say nonexistant VINs. I would agree that the vin's aren't in line with the regular '91 production vin's. My truck is the M8530113 vinned sy. SYTurbo has the M8530112 Sy.

most (prolly all) pre production prototypes dont have syclone vin. mine for example has an s15 4x4 vin, and an MI state issued vin (that registration is under). i have seen 93 ty #0001 (white/white) at the woodward dream cruise in 98 or 99 with merk. there is a guy that is in the marketing department or something that was driving the thing around.

did your sy get stolen from a dealer? just wondering?
No it was stolen out of the underground parking at the apartment where i used to live in west LA. I hve since moved, obviously. A few months after when the insurance paid me, i got my ty #1205. The second night it was broken into, the person/people on the exterior put a hole in the doors and the tailgate near the lock, also they pryed my hood open and cut my steering wheel up, in an attempt to get the club off(everyone knows the club sucks, they werent the same people, AMETUERS). Point being before i moved i slept in my truck for 2 months no bullshit, and havent had any bad luck since, knock on wood! Just wanted to show the love i have 4 my ty.

Didn't it get awfully cold?

In SoCal, you must be kidding. The lows are usually in the 50's at night, SOMETIMES in the winter it gets REALLLY cold and jumps down into the 40's, and then it's BIG news if it gets into the high 30's(not too often)...
