    Sunbird Instrument Cluster Probs

Re: Sunbird Instrument Cluster Probs Mike, is that diagram for a regular S10 dash? It doesn't show the "special" brackets that allow the Sy/Ty cluster to attach to the S10 dash.

    Sunbird Instrument Cluster Probs

Ok, heres the deal. I have a 93 S10 Blazer that I am trying to put a Sunbird cluster in. I have a cluster (not sure what year it came from) and I have the bezel from a Sy. I haven't taken the truck apart yet but I can't see anyway to make these Sy/Ty brackets line up with any of the...

My ty 1- Malibu SS 0

Re: My ty 1- Malibu SS 0 You raced a new Malibu with a 5.3 in it? That was probably a cool conversion, can't imagine why anyone would put the kinda $$ into a car like that to convert it to V8. Oh well, sounds about like my fantasy of putting a LS1 based motor in an AWD Jeep Liberty.

BW4472 32 input shafts. All slots filled.

Re: BW4472 32 input shafts. All slots filled. Well, my local track opened yesterday and I drove the Blazer there, made several passes, and drove it back out. Thats something I tried to do last year but never succeeded with the 27 spline output shaft. So I am confident in saying that Georges...

BW4472 32 input shafts. All slots filled.

Re: BW4472 32 input shafts. All slots filled. I put the shaft in this afternoon. My shop is about 25 miles from where I live, so after I got it all together I drove it home. It hasn't even been started in a couple months so I just cruised home. I figure most of you guys know how hard it is...

Re: BW4472 32 input shafts. All slots filled. Hey George.....Any news on when the pieces will be in our grubby little hands? I have had more health probs since I last talked to you, but even so it looks like I will have everything back together soon and will be ready for the Tcase part...

broke the 4472 on the first time to the track

Re: broke the 4472 on the first time to the track I noticed some of those differences in the Tcases when I was doing the research on what to rebuild/replace inside it. Apparently the AWD 4472 used in the Astro vans uses a unique chain and sprockets but I think the rest of it is pretty much the...

broke the 4472 on the first time to the track

Re: broke the 4472 on the first time to the track Hmmmmmm, I can only dream this was a 7 second 1/4 mile truck. It is going to be a low 6 second 1/8th mile......that I can say with confidence. This is a 100% streetable truck with a smooth idle, working A/C, cruise control, etc etc. I...

broke the 4472 on the first time to the track

Re: broke the 4472 on the first time to the track My apologies to Mr Borg Warner for bashing his Tcase before I had all the facts..... When I pulled the Tcase out this morning I found the output shaft of the tranny twisted into. Has anyone else ever broken an output shaft on the 4l80E...

broke the 4472 on the first time to the track

Well, I FINALLY got the 6 liter AWD Blazer together enough to go to the track for a baseline. I made 6 passes, with a best of 7.08 at 98mph (eighth mile) On the 7th pass, as I was building boost getting ready to launch.....BAMMMM something let loose in the transfer case and the RPMs flared to...
