:D Wow, I am excited. I own a VR4 but damn are these trucks fun as hell (I actually like it ALOT more, but don't tell  ). I bought the truck in Boston and had it shipped. It has full 3" ATR exhaust, STG Chip, 3bar MAP, Walbro 255LPH, Silver ZR1 wheels with P315's in the rear, P275's up front. Now I just have to figure out this Ultimate chip and it's settings, it was at setting "T117" when I started it up for the first time so that is where it is still set. Anyway, I look forward learning alot more from this site, I am also a member on 3si.org. Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself...here are some pics of my truck....

Re: Just got my first Syclone!

Congrats and welcome to the BB... Check out the SyTy Readme and FAQ to your left... good source of introductory info.... Also recommend that you purchase a cheap laptop and datamaster before you start turning up the boost... A scan tool is a good investment in keeping tabs on your truck...

Slick looking truck.

Chip stuff - I make that chip... see www.chitownsyty.com Tech section - has all the chip info. Keep the boost at 15 or so on pump gas, and read up around here. The trucks are real fun if you stay on top of them and know your stuff. They get to be a handful REAL fast if you slack off or aren't up on their quirks.

WOW, thanks...now I am understanding it. so "T117" is Timing 1 at 17PSI?
Is that basically the concept?

Thanks for all the compliments on the truck! :)

Nice truck and welcome aboard.. I second the statement about getting a cheap laptop and Datamaster or scan tool to make sure everythings good to go before you start cranking up the boost. Check out the FAQ page at the left of your screen. LOTS of info in there that you will need sooner or later.

Anyway. Welcome

(now you guys see why Im almost ready to sell a kidney for silver ZR1s... GOD they look sweeeeeeet!!!!!)

you really lucked out. you have tyler there in the dallas/ft worth area to help if need be. there are quite a few syty's in your area.
just got an email from Steven from Austin stating:

" I am in the Austin
area, small town North called Liberty Hill. Al (Syclone)lives in Georgetown,
Tony (Typhoon) in Cedar park, Jim Kelley (Syclone) in Cedar Park, Jim Duda
(Typhoon) lives in Austin proper. It would be fun, I am wanting to go to the
track when the weather turns a little cooler for some final tuning and
adjustments on the Typhoon. We could probably swing something in that time
frame. " ( time frame being a few months from now for a get together of Texas SyTy's)

welcome aboard man.
btw, have you seen the hottied on the hood contest at 3si.org. that girl and guy are my close friends..... :D
pics are awesome...
but we have Will's (will_in_denver) Girl here at the "mile high syty warez" thread which is by far the best of its kind thusfar.

Hey, nice truck bro! I want to paint my cladding like that...tasty :D For your first mod, pull that POS paper hose between the turbo and the IC and replace it with a nice big 90 degree radiator hose from Kragen; you WILL feel a difference. Also get a TC lockup switch - that'll give you another .1 to .2 in the 1/4 when you race. So what'd you pay if you don't mind me asking?

I'm surprised nobody remembers...but you were already announced on this board about 3 weeks ago or so. You had stated you bought your sy on the Stealth/GT board and posted your pictures up there. Somebody linked your post over to here. Good to see that you found your way into our board. Welcome and read up on that chip and it's settings to save wear and tear on that engine.

Please tell us more specifics (if you don't mind).

What did you pay?
How many miles on the truck?
Did you look at it before buying it?
Wasn't this on Ebay a while back?
Wanna sell it? (sorry that is nice and I've been looking for one like that).

BEAUTIFUL TRUCK and welcome aboard.

Vince :D

Nice looking truck.

Do a tuneup right away. Just so you know you got the right stuff on there.
Get with someone to hook up datamaster, and then they can show you what to look for. You want to make sure you not getting any knock.

Be careful with mods, do the right ones and only after you've been around awhile to know what that means.
exam. Going out and buying a 7th injector from ATR would not be wise.

You'll start to know what parts people are having success from. And once you figure your goals, then you can work towards them. Gotta know the big picture before just throwing parts at it.

Have fun,

Scott

Yup.

I'd recommend getting a scan tool and doing some serious reading on the board before going racing or beating on it. It will put you really in tune with the truck, and allow for lots o fun.

I paid $10K for it, it just turned over to 85K miles yesterday. I do plan on getting a cheap laptop, any ideas where? Is there a website for the datamaster software so I can see what specs the system needs.

I did something bad and did not see the truck before I bought it, found it on ebay, the guy stopped the auction for me. Luckily everything has been good with it so far. He had owned at least one typhoon before this truck.

Sorry if this was posted a coiuple of weeks ago, I didn't even realize someone had linked it from 3si.org.
